Guess Who is Rolling over!!!

I'm so excited that I didn't miss this!!! I'm so glad I had to take today off so I could be home to see Cayden rolling over for the first time! I just love being a mom!!!

Cayden rolling over 3/27/08 11:10am

Time to catch up!!!

So much has happened lately. Its hard to go back and remember everything that has happened. So I'll do my best.

We started Cayden on rice cereal a few weeks ago. He still wakes up quite a bit at night so we thought the cereal would help him to sleep better because he would be more full. Did it help. NOPE. Cayden doesn't even like the stuff. His face is pretty fun to watch when he eats. He can make faces as good as Jared. So a few days ago we got some baby applesauce. You would think he would like that. NOPE. Still makes faces but at least he gets it down.

Sorry about the annoying music. We were watching Into The Woods.

Cayden has also discovered his feet. Anytime he is on his back now his feet are up in the air. Not only are they up in the air but he has a death grip on them that you don't dare mess with. He lust loves his feet. He also loves when his daddy plays with him and blows on his tummy. Its pretty cute to watch.

We had a fun St Patrick's Day. We don't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day but we did have a party on the 17th. It was a surprise party for my mom. Her birthday is the 18th. So we all wore our green and had Irish food (No it wasn't corned beef and cabbage,I refuse to keep that Linton tradition going. We had Pork Chops) for our "St. Patrick's Day" party. It was a nice surprise for mom. It was quite the fun evening.

Jared wearing Cayden's blanket as a cape. (He claims he was cold)

Our Easter was nice. I could have done without the Ward Choir sacrament meeting though. I would have much rather listened to talks. Our Ward Choir is AWFUL. After church Cayden and I took naps while Jared did school work. (That seems to consume his life right now.) Jared woke us up around 2:30 and we headed over to my parents for our Easter Feast. There was too much food to eat. It was AWESOME. The Easter Bunny always seems to find us at my parents house. Its amazing! So Jared, Cayden and I all got little Easter baskets. We didn't do a hunt this year but we can't wait to do it next year!

On Tuesday we babysat our nephew Spencer so Kimmy and Tyson could go to the Temple with my mom, dad, and brother. It was fun but I don't know how people handle twins or triplets or more. I'm very happy only having one baby at a time. It was only difficult because Spencer wasn't feeling well so he needed more attention than normal. But once his Motrin kicked in he was happy and back to normal. It was a fun night. Poor Jared didn't get much school work done. But I appreciated his help.

So, last but not least, Jared FINALLY gave me my Valentine's Day gift. He's been making me something since January but hasn't had time to really work on it. So he finished it and brought it home yesterday. I absolutely Love it!!! This is what he made...

So, life has been busy. I'm off for Spring Break a little early because my mom and sister are in Florida so I had to stay home with Cayden. Bummer right??? NO WAY!!! I love being home with him. Jared has so much school work to do so we decided a trip to Florida for me and Cayden would be good so we could be out of the way and Jared wouldn't feel guilty for not spending time with us. SO, we leave Saturday for SUNNY, HOT, HUMID Florida. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I'll bog from Florida.

LOVE TO ALL~Have a Fantastic Day~

3 Months old!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!

It really is amazing how fast time goes by. It seems like we just barely brought Cayden home from the hospital. But here it is the middle of March and he's so big already! He really is fun though. He is getting to be more interactive these days. He smiles and laughs all the time. Not to mention grabbing for almost anything that he can see. Its been such a great 3 months. I can't wait until summer when I get to spend all day with him again. Until then, I'm glad he gets to hang out with my mom. I know he has fun with her and of course she has fun with him. Here are some pictures I took on the day he actually turned 3 months old. ;)

March 7, 2008

Things are going good. Jared is a little stressed about getting his projects done by the end of the semester. But I know he can do it. He's such a hard worker. We are looking forward to his graduation on April 26th. He's more excited about the Graduation Show. He gets a space that he gets to design. He's very excited about it. Anyway, We hope everyone is doing well!

President's Day Weekend!!!

What a fun weekend we had!

Jared, Cayden and I left Friday morning for Utah to spend the weekend with Family. I was really nervous to fly with Cayden because I didn't want him to cry for the entire flight. He fights going to sleep and can get quite loud. So we had a bottle prepared to give him so that he would calm down if he was crying and so that his ears wouldn't bother him. We got on the plane and Cayden fell right to sleep. Then they made us get off the plane becuase there was a leak in the hydrolic system and we had to wait for a new plane. So of course as soon as we got back into the airport Cayden woke up. We only had to wait about 15 mins. for the new plane and we boarded and Cayden was asleep again just after take off. He was such a trooper. I had to wake him up though because he had quite the stinky diaper. Its not easy changing a baby in a plane bathroom. But Cayden was a perfect baby on the plane.

When we got into Salt Lake Jared's sister Jessica picked us up from the airport. Her girls were very excited to meet Cayden. Tayler held Cayden's hand for most of the car ride out to the house. She couldn't wait to hold him. So when we got to the house we pulled him out of his seat and put him on the floor and Tayler and Rylee got to him as fast as they could. It was fun to watch them with him. After lunch we just hug out and talked until Jared's mom got home. At one point Cayden started to get fussy so Rylee started to sing to him. She sung "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. It was SOOOO CUTE!!! They stayed and had dinner with us, hung out a little more then went home. But before going home Jared did let Tay paint his nails blue! They looked so wonderful!!!

Cute Cousins!!!

Rylee was so good holding Cayden

"Once Upon a Dream"

Saturday we got up and after breakfast we all got ready and went into town to visit Grandma B. She met Cayden when she was here in January but every time she sees him its like meeting him all over again. It was a nice visit and I had fun looking through her scrapbook and seeing pictures of her and Grandpa B. when they were younger.

After our visit with Grandma B. we went home for lunch and then went up to Jessica's to play games and hang out. Sean made us burgers on the grill (even though it was freezing outside). They were AMAZING as always. THANKS SEAN!!!! We played a fun game of Golf (cards) and with a little help from Rylee and Tay everyones scores were pretty close.

Sunday we went to church and then after lunch we took Cayden down to American Fork to meet his Great Grandma Crabb and his Uncle Ronnie. It was a nice visit and they loved seeing Cayden. Grandma Crabb is so cute when she plays with her great grandbabies. After we left Grandma Crabb's house we went back home and played a game of Dominoes, Mexican Trash Train. I totally won. SO of course I had a great time playing.

Cayden and his Great Grandma Crabb

Monday came and that meant that Jared and I had been married for 2 years. It was fun just to be able to spend the day together for our anniversary. I' m so lucky to be married to such an amazing man. The past two years together have been amazing and I can't wait to see what the future will bring us.

My wonderful husband (Jared got in trouble for being on the beam)

All in all it was a wonderful weekend. We were sad to have to come home and get back to reality. But that's the way life goes. Jared had to go back to school today. But we can't wait until April, when he graduates.

We hope everyone had a great long weekend as well. LOVE TO ALL

No sleep for the weary.

This morning I wasn't feeling well so I asked Jared if he would get up with Cayden. An hour or so later Jared came back to bed and put Cayden in his bed. In a matter of minutes Cayden was wide awake. He was giggling and kicking his legs. Every now and then he would just crack himself up. He was having fun watching his bear mobile. As tired as we both were we enjoyed listening to Cayden. I finally got up to get the camera to take pictures and this was the result.

The flash kinda freaks him out

So I turned the flash off for this one

By the time I thought of recording him he got silent. But its still pretty fun to watch him.

We hope everyone had a GREAT weekend.

Growing Boy

Only 2 more days and our little Cayden will be 2 months old. I can't believe how fast time goes by. Its almost strange looking at pictures of him when he was forst born because he is so different. He looks like a little man. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy. We absolutley LOVE being parents. Its so much fun to just sit on the couch and stare at Cayden. He is starting to get so smiley. He follows things with his eyes now too. The other day he followed Jared across the room. And today he was staring intently at the button on his pants pocket and then proceeded to grab at it. Its so much fun watching him grow!!!

I love the outfit I put him in today so I had to take pictures. What do you think?

Last night for our Family Home Evening activity we decorated our apartment a little more. We are quite pleased with the outcome. Its nice to have things on the walls. It feels more like home.

6 Little Known Facts About KATIE

OK Julie here you go.....

1. I don't like to swim in ANY body of water alone (including swimming pools) for fear of a shark or alligator attack.
I guess growing up in Florida where they tell you that an alligator can hide in 2 feet of water helped to produce that fear. I would ALWAYS check Grandmommy and Granddaddy's pool quite thoroughly before actually diving in and if there were no sharks or gators then I would get in.

2. I hate when people have belt loops on their pants and don't wear a belt.

I think you can classify this as an OCD problem. I don't know why but it really bothers me when people don't wear belts. Its not even a fashion issue for me. It just really bugs me. I HATED not being able to wear a belt when I was pregnant.

3. I have never had a Big Mac

I don't know why. I guess 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun just never sounded appealing to me. However, at this point in my life I refuse to eat one just for the sake of saying I've never had one.

4. The first theatrical production I was in was The Three Little Pigs.

And I have loved the theatre ever since. I was the mother pig in my Kindergarden play and even had a solo that I had to sing. That was the first of 14 stage productions I have been in. Thanks to my mom and dad for my appreciation of the theatre.

5. I have been to 31 of the 50 US States. (And D.C.)

My family always drove if we were going somewhere because with 9 people driving is cheaper. I LOVED all of our family roadtrips. We always got to see so many cool things. My favorite was the roadtrip Kimmy and I took and we made a stop in Palmyra. It was such an awesome experience. Ohio is the only state that I've only been in the airport for a layover. (but I still count it.)

6. Mary Poppins is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies.

I have loved Mary Poppins since I was little. I remember, before I was old enough to go to school, my dad was home with me during the day and we would watch Mary Poppins together. Sometimes I would try and snap my fingers to see if my toys would put themselves away. I would also stand with my feet just like hers and talk to the end of my umbrella. Strange I know, but at least I had a good imagination.

Now that I have finished this, it took me FOREVER to think of 6 things, I challenge anyone who has the time to think of 6 things about them and post it. Its kinda fun if you have the time.

Hope everyone is well! ~LOVE YA~

Thoughts on Parenting

This is in response to Jess' question in her "One day at a time" blog...

Being a parent is such a wonderful thing but it sure is scary at times. I haven't been a parent very long but one of my biggest fears is that I won't teach Cayden enough. The other night he was upset and I was singing "Love is Spoken Here" to him. As I was singing I started crying because I want him to be able to hear that song and think "my home really is just like that." Along with what we teach him I want him to know that, most importantly, he is loved. I am most grateful to have such a wonderful husband who honors his priesthood so that we can have it in our home. I never want Cayden to feel he needs to question the things that we teach him.

I'm thankful that I have parents who taught me all they knew so that I can go on and share that knowledge with my kids. What a blessing it is to be able to take someone so small and start teaching him, now, the things that I know. I don't know how much he understands but I don't want to miss any opportunities to teach and talk to him.

I feel so blessed to be able to be a mom. (especially the mom of such a cutie)
