Drifting away in Margaritaville

So I have a little time and thought I would put it to good use. I just put some new pictures on the computer that I had forgotten we took.

On St. Patrick's Day we went over to my parents house to spend time with my sister and her husband who were only in town for the weekend. My brother's friend brought over his Nintendo Wii. That thing is so crazy!!! It was fun to play but I felt VERY silly playing it. Instead of a normal controller it has a remote that you use to do all the actions with. Here are some pics. of us playing the Wii.

We also couldn't let Houdini get pinched on St. Patrick's day so we gave him a green necklace to wear. He was so cute!!

I have been spending the week with my mom and little brother Matt. I love hanging out with Matt, we always have so much fun. He is such an amazing young man. Anyway, yesterday we went to Ross to kill time before we had to pick up Chris from work. I found the COOLEST pair of shoes. Ross was having a shoe sale and so I couldn't help myself. They were only $12.99!!!

Last night Jared and I took Matt out to get a drink. That's right we went out drinking. OK, so we got our drinks without alcohol, we aren't that rebellious. Matt and I got Mango Berry Margaritas and Jared got a Pomegranate Margarita. Matt got his "on the rocks" and Jared and I got ours frozen. The drinks were SO good, I don't know why anyone would want to ruin such a good drink by putting Alcohol in it.

I am totally enjoying my week off. Its so nice not to have to be in a negative environment for a week. I can't wait until Friday when Jared and I drive to Utah for the weekend!

OK well I gotta go pick up Matt, we are heading to the movies! HAPPY SPRING BREAK!!!

I know...I'm a slacker

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry that it has been so long since the last blog. We haven't fallen off the face of the earth we have just been SUPER busy. But I have a week vacation now because my school is on Spring Break.

Its a wonderful thing working for the school district. You gotta love built in vacation. This week I plan to get things back in order. It seems that these past few weeks I have either been too stressed or too tired to do anything. So I'm glad that I have all week to get reorganized as well as play because the weather is supposed to be GREAT!!! This morning I woke up and Matt and I went to pick up mom from the auto shop and then we went back to their house where I cleaned the interior of my car. I've been wanting to do that for WEEKS. So, its nice to have a clean car again.

Jared, unfortunately, does not get a spring break. So he has to work and study while I get to play. Playing would be more fun if he could play too. But he's working so hard on his schoolwork. He got his midterm grades a few weeks ago and had straight A's. I'm so proud of him and what a hard worker he is. He wants to make his dream of becoming an Animator come true and he knows what he has to do to make it happen. He really is amazing.

We have had the joy of watching Matt and Tim in another performance at school. They are both in the Men's Choir and they had a concert on the 20th of this month. The title of their performance was "Men in Tights". I'm sure you can guess what that comes from. They came out in the beginning and were in choir robes. They sang a funny song about being "the men of the choir" and how they get the parts no one else wants but that they can do better. Then they jumped off the risers and the curtain closed behind them. They got in a triangle formation and started singing "Barbara Ann". The kid who had the solo went off the stage and started working the crowd but when he tried to jump back onto the stage at the end of the song he kept slipping back down because of his robe. After that song they all tore their robes off and revealed their medieval attire and of course TIGHTS! Then they sang "Men in Tights" from Robin Hood:Men in Tights. It was HILARIOUS. I must say my brothers are such characters when they are on stage. I'm so happy that being on stage is so comfortable for them. We love to watch them perform.

Anyway, this is long and boring because I have no pictures this time. But I will take pictures this week and blog again soon!!!!

Love to all!!!!

ITS OFFICIAL!!!!

On Thursday when I got home from hanging out with my family(I had the day off) I was excited to find a piece of mail that I had been expecting. I had to wait two long weeks and was excited for its arrival. In the envelope, that I tore open in excitement, sat a small little card. Now even though the card was small it was still a very special card to me. You see the card in the envelope was my card of social security. (Ha ha I have been listening to the Seussical the Musical soundtrack all week) This card is so special because I am no longer, in the eyes of the government, Katie Crabb. I am officially Katie Linton!

We have had a lot of fun today. Matt and Tim spent the night last night. They stayed up until midnight with Jared playing X-Men on the Gamecube(I got Jared the Gamecube for V-day). The reason they spent the night was so we could get up early to go play tennis. We went out last night and the boys bought tennis rackets to play today. We got up early but we didn't go play as early as we wanted because it was TOO COLD. I'm so tired of the cold weather. So we took our car into the shop and then went to play. It was fun. Matt and Tim have never really played before but I was so impressed with how well they picked it up. They are both better than me by a long shot!

When we got back we ate some lunch and then Tim offered to give the pup a bath. He was asking Jared and me how to do it and Jared told him the easiest way is to just get in with him. So he DID! He left his boxers on to do it though. I had to laugh when he called me in to help and I saw him IN the tub. So I had to ask him if I could take a picture and he said ok.

The boys are now playing X-men again so I figured I'd post our fun pictures of the day.

Seussical The Musical!!

Sorry for slacking again. I told Jared it was his turn to blog but he has way more to do than I so I figured I should just do it.

We are doing GREAT! These past few weeks have been good. Jared is waiting on his mid-term grades and working hard. I have been trying not to be stressed by my job.
Last weekend we had the opportunity to watch my younger brothers perform in Seussical the Musical. Matt and Tim were "whos" of Whoville and "cadets" in the military of General Gengus Khan Schmitz. They were great!!! It was so much fun to watch them sing and dance. And boy can they dance!!! I forget that Matt and Tim can shake it with the best. Jared and I actually went on Friday and Saturday night. I couldn't see the show very well on Friday.
On Thursday some of the kids at school asked me if I was "high" because my left eye was blood shot. Well my eye did hurt really bad and by the time I got home it was completely red. So I made an appointment to go to the doctor on Friday. I went to work Fri. and they sent me home. When I went to the doctor he told me "I'm going to give you some drops because your eye is gross." And he was right, I had pink eye and my eye was pretty gross.

So Jared took me to get new contacts and change the prescription in my glasses. Well, I can't get contacts yet and I didn't want new frames for my glasses. So, I had to walk around for 5 1/2 hours on Sat. BLIND!!!!!Thankfully I have a loving husband who was willing to be my eyes for the day. It's been crazy but I'm glad its all over. I just have to wait a few weeks to get my contacts.

Both Jared and I don't have to work on Thursday and Friday so it will be nice to sleep in and take it easy. Well, the bell just rang so I'd better go greet my kiddos. Hope all is well.

LOVE TO ALL!!!!!
