Yay for Jared!!!

Thursday night we had the opportunity to go to Jared's school and see the project that he has put so much blood, sweat and tears into. His Collective Animation class produced a VERY COOL short film. It was titled "UGH" and its about a caveman.

Jared was the Art Director for the film. He was in charge of the overall look of the entire film. He also had the job of creating the textures that would be used for the film. And the scenes that he animated looked AWESOME! Oh, and he was the voice of the main character too!!

It was fun to see him in his element and to see him light up when people asked questions about the film. Its so great to see how passionate he is about what he does and to know how much he LOVES doing it. I know Jared will make his dream come true because of the joy that it bring him to be doing it.

Hopefully we can get a copy to everyone so you can all see it!!!

So Exciting!!!!

I just have a minute but I wanted to post this because I'm so very excited about it. Yesterday I had my first appointment with the doctor to check on the baby. They did an ultra sound and it was SO COOL!!!! We got to see the baby and and we could make out its cute little (actually it looked big) head. The doctor then pointed out that the "flickering" on the screen was the baby's heartbeat. I was so happy and Jared was too. We are so excited and grateful to have the opportunity to be parents. I know it will be hard but it will be fun.

Oh my , How time flies!

I swear that I just posted last week but with all that has been going on I guess I have fallen behind. We are doing well though. I'll try to go back as far as I can remember to catch everyone up.

EASTER!!!
Our Easter was nice. Jared and I decided not to do Easter baskets for each other this year because we are now pinching our pennies. Plus I had to speak on Easter Sunday so I was writing my talk and didn't even have time to enjoy the morning. We did have a nice breakfast together. It was Jared's fault that I had to speak in the first place. They had originally called to ask him to speak and he said he spoke when we moved into the ward in Oct. but then I guess they asked him if I had and he said, " No, would you like to talk to her?" I could have killed him!! So, I prepared a half decent talk to give as the last speaker. I have never had to be the last speaker before. I ended up only having 7 minutes to give a 15 minute talk. I spoke VERY fast!

Jared and me with our eggs we found in the hunt

After church we went to my parents house where we had dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt. My mom is the best. She has no grand kids yet and all of her children are over the age of 14 and she still hid eggs for us. She even had Easter baskets for everyone including Julie! Before the hunt Jared and I wanted to share our special treats that Jared made while I was writing my talk. He made fortune cookies. Each fortune cookie had a clue in it about us having a baby. My Mom and Chris got the ones that said, "Jared and Katie are having a baby!!" It was a fun way to tell everyone. Then we had the fun of making phone calls to the rest of our family to share the news.

The next week went by SUPER fast and we found ourselves hanging out with my family again. I love having family close by. We were all just hanging out and somehow my Dad's glasses got brought up. I told my dad how I used to put them on when I was little and it felt like I was walking in a hole. SO of course then everyone wanted to see what it was like.....

After that we all went to T.G.I. Friday's for dinner. Needless to say it was quite the fun day.

This past week wasn't all that bad. Jared is closer to being done with school. And I put in my 2 weeks notice at my work. I've been having problems with my boss and constantly feeling unsupported by him and in the type of school I work in I can't go to work everyday feeling unsafe and unsupported. It has gotten to the point that when I voice concern for my safety I get yelled at. So after talking to my dad and Jared I felt comfortable quitting my job. So, I will go back to being a nanny which will be MUCH less stressful.

Tomorrow is my first doctor appointment! I'm excited but nervous. I hate going to the doctor, but I guess I'd better get used to it. Jared is going to meet me there. This is his finals week at school so I'm pretty much not going to see him. So if I have to go to the doctor to see my husband then so be it.

Jared is very ready to be done with this semester. He has done an AMAZING job balancing everything this semester. He is always worried that he won't get an "A" but I always am trying to tell him to trust in his abilities because he is GREAT at what he does. So, please keep him in your prayers this week so that he can make it through. After this week he only has 2 semesters left!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!

OK, so I think I'm done because I'm feeling a little nauseous and need to eat.

What a wonderful Week and Weekend

It was SO nice being away from work for a week. I sure did need it. I spent most of the time hanging out with my little brothers and my mom. I just wish Jared had had the week off too.

This past weekend we went to Utah. We really went because the youth in our ward were going. When they planned the trip they didn't even have tickets. All the youth and leaders had a special fast on the 25th that they might be able to get tickets. Well, the night before they left the Relief Society president called and said her friend had 15 tickets for each of the 3 sessions on Saturday. The boys were really cute when they were telling us about it.
When the boys went into town I stayed back at the house with my mother in law, Leslie. I had a nice time just talking to her. I've never had one on one time with her and I really enjoyed it. Then Jess brought the girls over and I got to play with them. It was SO MUCH FUN! We played Easter Egg hunt for like 45 mins. Then we played house and read some books. I forgot how fun my nieces are. I was so lucky to inherit 5 (now 6) beautiful nieces and I'm so excited for a nephew. I was supposed to meet up with a friend that evening but I didn't want to leave Rylee and Tayler. I was having way to much fun. I taught Rylee how to give "knuckles" (a.k.a "pound it") and to flick water at Julie. (sorry to teach her bad habits Jess) But she was so cute doing it.Rylee was also my little buddy for the day. Once she warmed up to me she wouldn't leave my side. It made me feel really loved. Julie and I also taught Tayler how stop a soccer ball when its kicked to you and Julie taught her how to dribble. She was REALLY good actually. I can't wait for the next time I get to see them again. (Jenny, Jared and I are hoping to make it up that way soon.)

Now I'm back to work and stressed out again. I'm trying really hard not to be, but when you have an unsupportive boss its really hard not to be. I'm so thankful for the other great people I work with who are there for me when I'm having a rough day. Isn't it great how the Lord always gives you amazing people in your life to balance out the crummy ones?

Well, my break is over and I"d better get back to work.
